~ The Art of Gemstone Cutting ~

Whether you are creating Cabochons for your own Jewelry creations, for friends or selling them retail , you will be exercising and satisfying your Artistic abilities and creativeness.

The Art of Creating a Gemstone Cabochon is merely the mastering of a few simple steps. Once mastered, a Cabochon may be created in as little as 45 minutes.

These basic steps are:

Using a pre-cut Gemstone Slab:

• Create a pre-form using Templates, a Lapidary Saw and Grinding or Sanding wheels on your Gem-Maker.
• Dop the pre-form to a Dop Stick using Dop Wax.
• Dome the Gemstone top using a Gem-Maker Unit.
• Final Shape and Grind the Gemstone to remove all scratches on a Gem-Maker Unit.
• Perform the final polishing on your Gem-Maker Unit.
• Remove Cabochon from Dop Stick and finish grind and polish the back.
